Web Hosting Guide -> Notes about Joining us from another Web Hosting Provider
Time to move on?
Great. We'd love to have you as a new customer with us.
However to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible, please read this article to learn what you should be doing to reduce any disruption to your website's visitors.
Domain Names:
Check your old hosting provider will allow you to transfer your domain name(s) to us. There are still a lot of hosting providers out there who still won't allow you to do this, or charge you for doing so.
If you can't transfer your domain name(s) to us, try logging into your Control Panel with them (if you have one) where you may be able to find somewhere to enter new DNS addresses for your domain names. If you can, then everything will work just fine.
If you're still stuck and your hosting provider is not helping please contact our support team. We may be able to help.
Moving Your Files:
While your domain name(s) transfer over to us, be sure to make a complete copy of your website on your computer incase anything should go wrong. Now, with this complete copy, you can begin uploading files to your new space on our web servers, ensuring all your pages work as they should.
If for some reason you find something doesn't work as it should be sure to contact support so we can find a solution.
A Word About Search Engines:
Worked well to rank high in Search Engines? Excellent. Be sure to maintain your position in them by getting every part of your website to work with us BEFORE you transfer your domain name(s).
This will ensure that next time a Search Engine robot visits your website, it won't find any missing web pages which may effect your position with them.
