MSN Search - How to be ready:
With the launch of the New MSN Search drawing ever closer, now it is more important than ever to make sure you are listed.
If you are not listed, MSN like Google are accepting new submissions for the Search Engine at no cost to the webmaster. You can do this from http://beta.search.msn.co.uk/docs/submit.aspx. From our own research it appears this a relatively quick process when compared with submissions to Google, you can usually see your site showing up in MSN Search results after just a few days.
Good Ranking - Specific Tips
Being a new Search Engine, real SEO tips for the New MSN Search are very few and far between. However here are a few things we have found to be true so far:
- MSN's spider (MSN Bot) does visit sites a lot more often than Google and will notice changes in your site a lot quicker.
- MSN Search does not give as much weight to backlinks as what Google and it's PageRank technology do.
- The Search Engine does appear to like repeated keywords, however they have managed to block out "spammy pages" with irrelevant keywords repeated over and over.
- As competition for the number 1 result in this Search Engine is still low, you can quickly get your site to the number 1 spot for your keywords with well written content.
- MSN Search pays a lot more attention to more ALT attributes and TITLE attributes than Google does.
